About the Artists:
Gandy Dancer: If you love bluegrass, you're in for a real treat. These guys really bring it and they know how to get the audience involved and will leave everyone wanting more! Playing high energy bluegrass and classic country, Gandy Dancer brings together an all-star lineup including film composer John Frizzell (King of the Hill, Office Space, and Space Force) on guitar, mark Cassidy on banjo (of the Hillbenders), Israel Parker on dobro (of the Get Down Boys), and Santa Barbara bass legend Randy Tico. The Alcazart is the firststop on mini-tour for a rambunctious evening that promises a few surprise special guests, irreverent audience participation, and foot stomping tunes. Gandy Dancer delivers high energy versions of works by great artists like Bill Monroe, The Grateful, Buck Owens and Billy Strings, incorporating rich vocal harmonies and fast picking rhythms.
Haddon Cord: Raised on Roots Rock, Pop, and Americana, Haddon Cord is an award-winning Singer/Songwriter. After past mentorship by the legendary T Bone Burnett and celebrated composer John Frizzell, Haddon went on to win the public vote for the 2018 Unsigned Only International Songwriting Competition for her single “Million Songs,” which has received nearly 500,000 spins across major streaming platforms worldwide. She also sang the main title on the CBS drama “Tell Me A Story,” starring Kim Cattrall (of Sex and the City acclaim). Haddon has performed on stages around the world, including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The London Troubadour, London Folkfest, The Bedford, Live@Sunset Marquis, The Fox Theater, The Lobero Theater, The Fresno County Fair, Santa Barbara Fiesta, Hard Rock L.A., and more. She has performed alongside artists Gary Allen, Don McClean, and Wilson Phillips, and supported Eric Hutchinson on his national “Anyone Who Knows Me” tour.
Doublewide Kings: The Santa Barbara-based Doublewide Kings play a uniquely tweaked blend of original music and cover tunes that brings new passion to the familiar pleasures of roots-rock, Americana, country-blues, and the glory days of ‘70s FM radio. With sommelier-like precision, these every-day Joes have cobbled together a repertoire that combines the deepest and most rewarding of old vine cuts with their own tasty, freshly-pressed songs, and the heady result is that, in the hands of the Kings, rock’n’roll once again feels urgent, exhilarating, and above all, fun. From shimmering harmonies and delicate acoustic work to soaring guitar solos and big, bottom-swaying grooves, the Doublewide Kings bring their own crafty magic to every stage they step on, and they don’t quit until band and audience have become one happy, sweaty, satisfied tribe. If you miss the soul-edifying thrill of live, bold rock’n’roll, the Kings are ready to light you up again. If you’ve never experienced that particular thrill, the Kings would be honored to show you how it’s done.
